Seniors
Fellowship of Seniors welcomes anyone 55+ years of age, whether single, single
again, married, or a grandparent. You do not have to be a member of West Hills
Christian Church to participate.
We gather on Sundays, once a month for a “pot luck” lunch at WHCC Fellowship Hall. After lunch we have a time of bible study and fellowship, with several service projects. It is a great opportunity to get to know other “seniors” who worship at WHCC. Our service projects for others included collecting jars of peanut butter for Lifeline Christian Mission in Haiti. With the help of others at WHCC, we collected and packed 469 jars and delivered to Lifeline Mission in Ohio, for shipment to Haiti! We participated in the mile of cans at WHCC, as the “Souper Seniors”. We challenged other groups to collect more cans than us. This year our group collected 2,240 cans of food, mostly “soup”! That is 1,077 MORE than last year for our group! Congratulations SOUPER SENIORS! The West Hills Community Food Bank was the big winner! Our Fellowship of Seniors are proud grandparents of a six year old Haitian girl. We are sponsoring a child at the Lifeline Christian Mission. With our $25.00 each month, our grandchild receives food, clothing, medical care and schooling in her native Haiti. In November our group made 25 fleece blankets for “Project Linus”. These blankets are given to comfort children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Our blankets were given to First Christian Church in Pt. Marion, Pa. as part of their ongoing “Linus Project”. If you are interested in being a part of the seniors group, please contact the Church Office by e-mail or phone 412-264-9392 for information. We look forward to meeting you!
