Mile of Cans

Each year, West Hills Christian Church takes part in the West Hills community food drive. Cans are collected and donated to the West Hills food pantry. Money is raised to purchase canned goods through car washes, rummage sales, and other special events.

Each year, weather permitting, the cans are lined up along Thorn Run Road in Moon Township. Many volunteers come out to help in some way; lining up cans, sorting cans at the food pantry, collecting cans at the local supermarket, and washing cars.

On October 15, 2005, we collected more than 25,000 cans. That is almost 2 miles of cans! This was another successful year. We hope that you will come out and join us and be a part of this special event. For more information, contact the church office by email or phone 412-264-9392.
